SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key member of a collaborative team, you will:

  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership to ensure alignment of our human resource strategy with organizational goals;
  • Work closely with the MP and COO to develop and implement human resource and staffing strategy;
  • Develop, update and implement human resource policy;
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, screening, selection and hiring;
  • Oversee the training and onboarding process for new hires;
  • Ensure compliance with Employment Standards and other Federal and Provincial regulations related to employment;
  • Maintain a compensation plan including conducting periodic compensation reviews, market analysis, job evaluations and preparing pay recommendations;
  • Implement performance review and performance management procedures including documentation of performance on an annual or semi-annual cycle;
  • Provide general oversight and supervision to all staff, including assigning work, scheduling and performance management;
  • Act as first point of contact for employee relations; and
  • Other management and administrative duties as required.


Requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A proven track record of success as a progressive Human Resources professional, in leadership roles that has involved responsibility for strategic human resources in a complex environment; 
  • Completion of post-secondary studies;
  • Strong competency in the usage of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Standard;
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service;
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail;
  • Accurate and efficient data entry and keyboarding skills;
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment;
  • Flexible, reliable and works well in a team environment;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines; and
  • Experience in Legal Administration, Paralegal, Business or related field preferred.
