Role Summary: The HR Specialist manages all aspects of data and analytics in support of Human Resources service delivery processes for defined business client groups. This includes managing data entry/editing, position management and reporting/analytics for all core HR processes. The HR Specialist will also lead processes and initiatives related to HR metrics, employee engagement, recruiting, and labor relations. This role requires a process-minded team player with a bias for action and strong attention to detail.
Role Purpose:
- Manages end-user HRIS, position management, and data reporting/analytics processes for plant human resources
- Ensures and assists in implementation/administration of HR programs / processes / policies establishing and reinforcing Corning Values and positive work environment, while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensures HR and plant key stakeholders fully understand the value, benefit, and use of HR tools / programs / processes / policies. Manages/ensures standards and guidelines are understood and consistently applied
- Ensures HR programs / processes / policies meet or beat quality and delivery expectations
- Responsible for execution and finalization of hiring processes including salary offers, etc.
- Identifies employee value proposition issues affecting turnover and works with HR manager to identify actions for improvement
Responsibilities:
- Maintains and ensures confidentiality of time and personnel sensitive materials
- Maintains and develops reports and analysis tools, ensures timely updates, and provides organization and distribution of reports for use by human resources managers and business leadership
- Recommends/implements areas for standardization of HR programs / processes / policies, as appropriate, to reduce complexity of administration and associated costs
- Implements HR programs / processes / policies in compliance with current legal and regulatory policies and assesses them to determine the extent to which they support Corning Values and positive work environment
- Gathers and analyzes data on the performance and impact of HR programs / processes / policies, highlights areas of concern or improvement, and creates reports and presentations as requested to ensure achievement of targeted results
- Develops and maintains subject matter expertise through independent research and participation in company / professional groups
- Educates colleagues and customer groups on proper use of HR systems for which he/she is responsible
- Monitors and maintains integrity of data contained in HR systems for which he/she is responsible
- Assists in deployment of HR transformational goals (change management) and required levels of client support
- Provide appropriate council and support to client managers on HR processes/programs and employee relations.
Project Work
- Assist in development of HR process and recruitment materials
- Manages/collect inputs for review of processes related to HR programs/projects/policies (talent reviews, climate survey, etc).
- Provide data reports for leadership as appropriate.
- Maintain databases to track and monitor activity on functional initiatives including talent management, diversity, leadership development training, recognition, etc.
- Lead, organize, schedule and coordinate business meetings and events.
- Develops / implements / maintains key HR process and programs (attendance, recognition, performance, recruiting, etc.)
Criteria for Performance Evaluation:
- Successfully assumes accountability for accurate and timely maintenance of data, knowledge tools and reporting of relevance to the day-to-day operational and long-term strategic needs of the Fairport Human Resources team
- Implements standard procedures and takes initiative to propose modifications to improve workflow
- Independently solves most problems using established and well-defined procedures on basis of examining pertinent facts, while obtaining supervisory input to resolve new types of problems
- Develops learning plan for continual knowledge growth in human resources, data management/analysis and project management

Requirements
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, Master’s degree a plus
- 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, preferably in manufacturing environment
- Work experience in administrative and project roles
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Experience navigating and managing HRIS – preferably SuccessFactors based platforms
- Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Successful track record in the administration of HR or Business processes or programs
- Successful track record of continuous process/product improvement using defined methodology
- Successful track record in fast-paced work environment (taking initiative, working independently & handling multiple priorities)
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and be a change agent

Additional Specific Position Requirements:
- Broad knowledge of HR policies, processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems both data and reporting
- Strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. the ability to query, run reports, sort data and analyze results)
