Description
Lead Human Resources for a National Law Firm Your new companyWe're partnering with a mid-tier, multidisciplinary national law firm with a strong presence across Australia. The firm is investing in its people and culture strategy and has created a newly established opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist to join their Sydney office on a permanent basis.
Your new role
This position offers the opportunity to shape and deliver core people and culture initiatives across the firm. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to lead employee relations, performance management, policy development, and HR systems optimisation. You'll also manage and mentor a junior Talent Acquisition team member, supporting recruitment activity across legal and corporate services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading employee relations and performance management processes
Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Enhancing and managing the firm's HRIS (Employment Hero)
- Mentoring and managing a junior TA team member
- Supporting recruitment across a range of roles and levels
- Partnering with senior leaders to foster a positive and compliant workplace culture
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years' HR experience in a generalist capacity- Strong working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and policy development
- Experience implementing or enhancing HRIS platforms (Employment Hero preferred)
- Proven ability to manage and mentor direct reports
- Exposure to recruitment processes and workforce planning
- Background in the legal or insurance sectors highly regarded
- Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach
