The Rural Health Enterprise (RHE), a subsidiary of The Rural Collaborative, supports rural hospitals across Washington by delivering high-value services and solutions. One of RHE’s fastest-growing programs is the Washington Healthcare Staffing Network (WHSN), a staffing agency and MSP that helps connect clinical talent with rural hospitals. Together, RHE and The Rural Collaborative employ 20 dedicated team members who are passionate about advancing rural healthcare.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist/Business Partner plays a critical role in supporting the HR function across both RHE and The Rural Collaborative. This role will primarily focus on clinical recruiting, credentialing and onboarding for the Washington Healthcare Staffing Network, while also providing broad HR support including benefits administration, leave management, compliance, employee recognition, and other generalist responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is a strong, well-rounded HR professional with a background in healthcare HR, skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization. They will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Talent Management and a part-time HR Assistant to build and deliver effective HR practices that support our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding (WHSN & RHE/Rural Collaborative)
- Lead and manage recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offers.
- Oversee and coordinate onboarding processes for new employees and contracted clinical staff.
- Partner with hiring managers to anticipate workforce needs and deliver recruiting strategies.
- Credential clinical staff by ensuring all required compliance documents are received and valid
General HR Support
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and employee education.
- Support leave of absence requests, ensuring compliance with Washington state and federal regulations.
- Partner with leadership on employee engagement and recognition programs.
- Maintain HR records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with compliance activities, including policy updates, trainings, and reporting.
- Provide employee relations support, escalating issues appropriately.
Organizational Support
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders across both organizations.
- Support special projects and new HR initiatives as assigned.
- Contribute to building scalable systems and processes as the organization grows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience in healthcare required.
- Broad knowledge of HR practices, including recruiting, benefits, leave management, employee relations, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Washington state and federal employment laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work across diverse teams.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
- Self-starter, able to manage multiple priorities in a fully remote setting.
