Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR & Payroll Coordinator to support day-to-day human resources functions, with a strong focus on payroll administration and HR operations. This is a hands-on, in-office role that will work closely with and report directly to the Director of People and Talent.
This role is ideal for someone with at least 2–4 years of experience in HR who is ready to grow in a fast-paced, professional environment and play a key role in employee support and HR compliance.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Process and reconcile bi-monthly exempt and bi-weekly non-exempt payroll accurately and on time
- Administer 401(k) plan contributions and related activities
- Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, responding to benefits inquiries on provisions, benefits enrollments and status changes
Recruiting and Talent Support
- Schedule interviews, coordinate candidate communications, and help manage applicant tracking
- Post job openings and assist in resume reviews and screenings
- Help facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a welcoming onboarding experience
- Help facilitate off-boarding process
Employee Lifecycle & Engagement
- Assist with performance review processes and tracking
- Contribute to employee events and engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture
- Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers on HR-related questions and needs
General HR Support
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS database with new and changing information, ensure accuracy and integrity of information
- Support HR compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to company policies and employment laws
- Assist with other HR projects and initiatives as needed
- Provide daily and backup support to the Office Coordinator (e.g., greeting visitors, answering calls, assisting with front-desk and office coordination duties)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology or related field required. HR Certification preferred, but not required.
- 2–4 years of HR experience, ideally in a Generalist function in a fast-paced environment
- 2-4 years hands on experience overseeing payroll processing (exempt and non-exempt)
- 2-4 years benefits administration
- Excellent technical skills, including Excel, Greenhouse ATS or similar recruiting platforms, as well as HRIS/Payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now)
- General understanding of HR best practices and California employment laws
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Sense of urgency with strong problem-solving skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust across all levels.

Compensation
This LA -based position (Westwood area) requires in-office work five days per week to ensure close alignment among all team members. This position is non-exempt, regular full-time, with salary range: $70K - $80K (depending upon experience), plus discretionary bonus potential.
